ENGLISH VERSION
The fighters “ANTI TERROR” Frank Stoldt and David “DOUBLE D” Depto have arrived in Berlin!
More hightlights that evening: music by Winson, interior design by Roomdivision and Hip Hop legend Kurtis Blow live on stage at the aftershow!
Left: DDD has taken up training in Berlin and is visibly enjoying himself. Right: Until recently, ATF was getting in shape at his trainingroom in Kosovo.
David “DOUBLE D“ Depto is confident of victory: “I will prove American athletes to be the best in mental exercise as well as in fighting.” The 30 year-old economist weighs 85.8 kg and his estimated chess ELO rating is 1850. He has proved his talent in more than 30 boxing matches. The challenger from San Francisco believes that his boxing strategy will also have a crucial influence on his opponent’s chess skills.
“ANTI TERROR“ Frank Stoldt is a 36-year-old Berlin citizen and weighs 84.5 kg. The former Kickboxing Champion has mastered as many as 25 boxing matches and has an estimated Chess ELO rating of 2000. The policeman is an experienced chess boxer. In Kosovo, where, until recently, he was stationed for the UN the training conditions were ideal. The German Champion points out that “the chess matches with senior citizens in the streets as well as the chess training with the Danish FIDE Champion Per Andreasen who was in the same UN peace-keeping force have helped immensely. As far as boxing is concerned, the training with Kosovo’s national boxing coach was of great importance.”
The show will take place at 8 pm in the authentic setting of the storage depot of the TAPE Club, featuring two preliminary matches and a live gig of Berlin indie-pop punk Winson. Needless to say, the highlight will be the championship match between David Depto and Frank Stoldt.
JunkieXL’s exclusive soundscores, Roomdivision’s lighting concept and the after show party featuring Kurtis Blow prove that chess boxing has reached new heights.

KURTIS BLOW IN CONCERT AFTER THE BIG MATCH
Hip Hop Legend Kurtis Blow plays a live gig at the Tape Club!
A cause for celebration! Kurtis Blow, a breakdancer and DJ in New York in the seventies went on to become one of the first commercially successful rappers.
He was the first one to release a hip hop album with a major label. (Mercury 1980)
At about the same time Sugar Hill Gang made it big with their hit ‘Rappers Delight’.
A couple of years might have passed since then but on November 3rd 2007 Kurtis Blow is on stage again!
MUSIC ACT WINSON
Winson will be the opening act before the big match.
The Frankfurt native not only plays other people’s music at the radio station MotorFM but also is a musician himself. Songs like ‘Wovon lebt eigentlich Peter’ and ‘Liebeskummer is Luxus’ have brought him national fame.
Both his album ‘So sah die Zukunft aus’ as well as ‘Frag die richtigen Leute’ easily combine diverse musical genres like indie rock, pop and punk and have been produced by Olaf O.P.A.L. who has worked with The Notwist, Phillip Boa and Die Sterne.
INTERIOR DESIGN BY ROOMDIVISION
The ROOMDIVISION architects have come up with an interior design for the Chessboxing Championship at the Tape Club.
ROOMDIVISION thinks of itself as ‘lighting design laboratory for architecture, objects and interior design’. They have specialized in LEDs and interior lighting and make it their principle to combine technology and art on the highest level.
On several occasions the ROOMDIVISION designers have lived up to their promise.
They have equipped numerous events, fairs and buildings and, to cite an example, have designed the light installations at the Watergate Club.
